In October 2024, Brazilian sugar exports set a new record. The volume of deliveries reached 3.7 million tons, which is 1 million tons higher than last year. This is reported by Brasil 247, a partner of the TV BRICS network.

According to the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat, this result was achieved due to increased supplies to Egypt, India, Indonesia and the UAE. At the same time, India is also among the world leaders in sugar production.

In general, since the beginning of the year, 32.1 million tons of these products have been sold to foreign markets. At the same time, exports for the whole of 2023 amounted to only 31.3 million tons.

It is noted that Brazil ranks first in the world in sugar production. It accounts for almost 70 percent of global exports of this commodity.
