On November 9, bilateral consultations in an interdepartmental format on biosafety issues with Guinea, Namibia and Uganda took place on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in Sochi.
The exchange of assessments of threats to biological safety at the regional and international levels was carried out. The issues of developing bilateral cooperation in this area, as well as strengthening the regime of the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons (BTWC) were discussed. The need for further close coordination and constructive interaction was noted both in the bilateral format and on specialized multilateral platforms, primarily within the framework of the BTWC and OOH.
