TV BRICS organizes a special telethon for the G20 summit in Brazil

During the days of the G20 summit, which will be held on November 18-19, 2024 in Brazil, the TV channel of the international network TV BRICS is planning special programming on the air. The broadcast network will be filled with news releases, programs and documentaries from the G20, BRICS and ASEAN countries.

Ksenia Komissarova, editor-in-chief of TV BRICS, said that a media network film crew will work to organize high-quality support for the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to operational information from the scene, special information releases will complement the comments of experts from different countries.

“The international TV BRICS network pays great attention to the activities of the Group of Twenty, which has been chaired by the countries that are also members of the BRICS association since 2023: India, now Brazil and South Africa in 2025. Our film crews worked in New Delhi and now in Rio de Janeiro. As a TV channel specializing in international relations, we will show our viewers an objective picture of the day, as well as all the richness and beauty of the national cultures of the BRICS+ countries,” Ksenia Komissarova said.

On November 18-19, the best films and programs of TV BRICS partners from Russia, Argentina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, China, and South Africa will be broadcast. For example, viewers will be able to see interesting projects about Chinese cuisine, scientific achievements of Russia, national traditions of India and agriculture in Brazil. The program also includes documentaries “Heritage” about the history of the Cavalcade in the Brazilian city of Brumale, “Trombonists” about the international music festival in Argentina, “Heilongjiang: a zone of sustainable economic development” about the pilot free trade zone in China. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa to the Russian Federation Mzuvukile Maketuka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Brazil to the Russian Federation Rodrigo Baena Soares, Adviser to the Political department of the Embassy of South Africa in the Russian Federation Dou Vermaak, Vice President of the Chinese Association of Coal Importers Jiao Jian will take part in the TV project “BRICS Interview”.

The G20 Summit will also receive comprehensive information support on the media network portal. In October 2024, the TV BRICS portal launched the BRICS & G20 media project in all six language versions, which is attended by government, public and scientific figures, journalists and experts from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran and Ethiopia.

On the eve of the XVI BRICS summit (October 22-24, 2024), the international TV BRICS network announced for the second time in a year the launch of a new language version of the information portal and special programming of the TV broadcast during the meeting of the heads of state in Kazan.

The international TV BRICS network was established in 2017 on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who received the support of the heads of state at the IX BRICS summit in China.

TV BRICS is the latest system of regular information exchange between the media of the BRICS+ countries. The interaction of media partners is carried out through the multilingual portal TV BRICS and the TV channel of the same name broadcasting around the clock.

The mission of TV BRICS is to strengthen cooperation between the BRICS countries and disseminate objective information about the humanitarian and economic activities of the member states and partners of the association. TV BRICS is an official partner of the United Nations, a member of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and provision of the Russian presidency in the BRICS association in 2024.
