On November 04-06, Panama hosted the IX meeting of university graduates from the countries of the former USSR, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Cuba, organized by the Association of Panamanian Graduates of Soviet and Russian Universities (Asociación Unión Druzhba Panamá).
At the opening of the event, Yevgeny Neshumov, Counselor-Envoy of the Russian Embassy in Panama, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
Within the framework of the forum, the Embassy prepared a “corner” of Russian culture, including a photo exhibition “Soviet Submariners in Panama”, about the passage of Soviet submarines through the Panama Canal in 1942. The participants of the meeting were also presented with the scholarship program of the Government of the Russian Federation and the documentary film “Gagarin. Embracing the World” directed by A.Filippova.
