On November 15, in Abu Dhabi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with former Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic Saad Hariri.
During the conversation, an in-depth exchange of views took place on the current situation in and around Lebanon. The Russian side expressed solidarity with the friendly Lebanese people in connection with the numerous human casualties and the destruction of towns and villages as a result of indiscriminate Israeli rocket and bomb attacks.
Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed Russia’s unwavering position in support of the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Lebanese Republic and the comprehensive and comprehensive implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. At the same time, the demand for consensus solutions to difficult issues on the national agenda by the Lebanese themselves without external interference was emphasized.
