The concept of implementing the principles of the green economy in the Eurasian Economic Union, prepared by the Integration and Macroeconomics unit of the Eurasian Economic Commission, took third place in the competition of international initiatives for sustainable development in the Eurasia region ERP HONOURS 2024.

The award was received by the Minister for Integration and Macroeconomic Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Eldar Alisherov, from the representative of the Eurasian Regional Partnership on Sustainable Development Reporting (EPR).

The concept is an initiative to use the potential of international economic cooperation to accelerate the achievement of the goals of “green” transformation. It is based on the principle of ensuring an optimal balance between environmental and climate protection in each EAEU country, on the one hand, and achieving national goals of socio-economic development, on the other.

Previously, the Concept was awarded by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in the nomination “Best International Initiatives” within the framework of the ISAR HONOURS 2024 competition.

EPP is a regional platform that helps companies, auditing organizations and government agencies of the EAEU countries to disclose information about the contribution of enterprises in the real sector of the economy to the implementation of the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030. The EPP also promotes the implementation of best practices in this area in the Eurasian region.

ERP HONOURS is an annual competition from ERP. Its goal is to identify the three best green initiatives in the Eurasian region.
