On November 20, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the EEC Arzybek Kozhoshev held a working meeting with Kanat Almagambetov, Director General of the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan KAZLOGISTICS. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Department of Transport and Infrastructure of the EEC, Rustan Dzhenalinov.
The issues of the development of road, rail, water and air transport, multimodal transportation were discussed with the development of proposals to improve the efficiency of their work.
“Combining the national characteristics of the EAEU countries and the introduction of best transport practices will help achieve a synergistic effect and unlock additional reserves of the transport industry,” said Arzybek Kozhoshev.
The participants of the meeting stressed that one of the key challenges of the time is the creation of a reliable and smoothly operating transport and logistics complex in the Eurasian space, ideally without barriers and technological restrictions.
Arzybek Kozhoshev drew attention to the need to combine the potential of the Commission with transport departments, associations, scientific organizations and the business community for the practical implementation of the roadmap in the field of transport policy of the EAEU countries for 2024-2026 approved at the October 1 meeting of the EAPC in Yerevan.
“This document is the main program for the integrated development of the EAEU transport complex for the specified period, the implementation of which largely determines the balance and stability of its functioning,” he said Arzybek Kozhoshev.
The EEC Minister noted the need to create a dialogue platform at the Commission’s site from the heads of the railway administrations of the EAEU countries for a deeper study of country initiatives and the development of appropriate proposals.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation aimed at creating a stable and efficient transport system of the EAEU.
