The Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, M.V.Zakharova, addressed the participants of the V Pskov International Media Forum in a video message format. In her speech, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the media forum is a landmark event for the media sphere of the North-West of Russia.
“During its existence, the event has proven itself at a very high level. It traditionally gathers like-minded people who strive to create high-quality content based on the principles of freedom of speech, unhindered access to information, looking for effective answers to the challenges of the hybrid war unleashed by the collective West against Russia,” Zakharova said.
The forum platform provides an opportunity for journalists, politicians, experts, and opinion leaders to discuss in detail the most significant trends on the global information agenda, Zakharova stressed. “The program of the event, which has incorporated many constructive initiatives, is an excellent example of the sincere nature of cooperation between the mass media of the world’s majority countries. This is our contribution to defending freedom of speech,” she continued.
The Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry also thanked journalists and bloggers from among compatriots living abroad for their active citizenship and courage. “Recent years have become a period of even greater trials for our compatriots, the Russian world and space, the Russian-speaking population, whose rights are systematically violated, and now the persecution of people who associate themselves with Russia and its history has simply begun. We will continue to provide you with support and protection. We highly appreciate that under the conditions of inhuman pressure exerted on you, you find the strength to support what is your true value – truth, truth, freedom, your historical homeland.”
