On November 21, the international round table “Eurasianism. A vision of the common.” The event was attended by ambassadors of the CIS countries accredited in Turkey, as well as leading experts in the field of world economy and international relations from Russia and Turkey. The event was organized around the discussion of the book “Eurasianism. The Vision of the common”, published under the general editorship of the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation A.L.Overchuk. The book was translated into Turkish and distributed during the conference.
At the opening ceremony, Russian Ambassador to Turkey A.V. Yerkhov spoke, who noted that today the usual picture of international relations is being deformed, global transport flows and national economic “chains” are being reoriented, new “centers of power” are emerging: “Our attempts to create integration schemes such as the EAEU dictate the need to think about the availability of We have a common Eurasian worldview based on a common cultural code.”
In his speech, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.K.Alikberov presented the concept of the book, telling how a common space of mutual understanding has developed throughout history on the territory of Eurasia.
The second part of the conference featured presentations by leading Russian and Turkish researchers on the prospects for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the large Eurasian space.
