On November 20, the acting representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Pskov, A.Y.Ivanov, took part in a meeting of the Governor of the Pskov region, M.Y.Vedernikov, with journalists and bloggers from among compatriots who arrived in the Pskov region from Germany, Canada, Slovakia, Switzerland and Estonia.
The leitmotif of the meeting was the discussion of the implementation of the Pskov Region State Program to assist the voluntary resettlement of compatriots living abroad to the Russian Federation, including its regional aspects.
In his speech, M.Y.Vedernikov stressed that working with future residents of the Pskov region is aimed at making them feel at home during the entire period of adaptation in Russia, and issues were resolved in a substantive, effective and comfortable manner. In addition, the governor spoke about the possibilities of temporary accommodation of compatriots, as well as measures to support them.
During the conversation, journalists and bloggers were able to personally ask the head of the region questions related to moving to the Pskov region. One of the main topics of discussion is employment opportunities in the region. According to the governor, the most in-demand personnel in the Pskov region are specialists in the field of medicine and pedagogy. M.Y.Vedernikov stressed that in order to provide targeted support and assistance in finding a job, the “Compatriot Resettlement Assistance Center” was opened in April this year, providing services in a “one-stop shop” mode.
At the end of the meeting, journalists and bloggers from among compatriots living abroad thanked M.Y.Vedernikov for the rich program of the visit, the opportunity to personally discuss the implementation of the State Program and meet with its participants, and also shared their impressions of visiting the region. In particular, the reporters noted the rich cultural heritage of Pskov region, its potential in the tourism, economic and industrial spheres.
