The volume of fish and seafood exports from Vietnam may exceed the planned 10 billion US dollars (more than 1 trillion rubles) due to high demand in the world’s largest markets. This is reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the country, whose data is referenced by Vietnam News Agency, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
In October, the cost of supplies reached 1.1 billion dollars (1.1 trillion rubles), due to which total revenues from the beginning of 2024 amounted to 8.33 billion dollars (842 billion rubles), which is 12 percent more compared to the same period last year.
As for the scale of sales in absolute terms, from January to October, Vietnam exported 7.9 million tons of products, exceeding last year’s results by 2.5 percent. At the same time, the share of aquaculture amounted to 4.6 million tons, showing an increase of 3.8 percent.
According to the ministry, these indicators indicate that aquaculture plays the role of a driver of Vietnam’s economy and secures its status as one of the world’s exporters of fish and seafood.
