Moscow and Tehran plan to put into orbit a satellite developed in Iran using a Russian rocket. This was stated by Hossein Shahrabi, CEO of one of the country’s leading innovative companies, quoted by Mehr News Agency, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
The industry representative also revealed details regarding the new spacecraft and joint work with the Russian side.
“It is an improved version of the Kousar and Hodkhod satellites. Its launch is scheduled for 2025,” Hossein Shahrabi said.
According to him, this development will be able to perform the functions of both devices created for the development of information technologies and means of communication, as well as for obtaining high-quality images of the earth’s surface. The use of satellites in the field of the Internet of Things provides advantages such as ensuring stable communication throughout the territory, including in remote mountainous areas, regardless of weather conditions.
Earlier, the successful launch of the Iranian Kousar and Hodkhod satellites from the Russian Vostochny cosmodrome took place. The vehicles were launched into orbit using a Soyuz rocket.
