The international media network TV BRICS will support the Initiative for Media Cooperation in the countries of the global South to build a community of a common destiny of mankind. This project was presented on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro as part of an event organized by the Media Corporation of China (CMG), a partner of TV BRICS, in conjunction with the G20 Youth Summit (Y20) and the General Secretariat of the President of Brazil.

The initiative has already been supported by at least 215 media outlets from 74 countries, CGTN reports. The event was attended by about 200 representatives of the media sphere, sports, business community, politicians and cultural figures from the countries of the global South, including Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, China and other countries.

Media organizations have reached consensus on a number of issues, including harnessing the potential of youth, strengthening South–South ties, developing North–South dialogue and jointly building a community of common destiny for humanity.

The initiative is aimed at deepening global cooperation, promoting mutually beneficial relations and creating a fair system of international cooperation. The media are designed to become a bridge for the dissemination of successful examples of cooperation, promote mutual understanding between civilizations, as well as the active participation of young people in the implementation of projects. Special attention is paid to the promotion of universal values such as peace, equality and freedom, with the aim of creating a sustainable and secure future that reflects the interests of all mankind.

TV BRICS is an officially accredited media outlet of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. The media network actively interacts with media from the countries of the global South, including leading media from India, Vietnam, China, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Chile, Venezuela, Egypt and South Africa.
