On November 26, on the sidelines of the 10th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations (AC) in Cascais (Portugal), Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin met with UN Secretary General A.Guterres.
The parties discussed in detail a number of key issues of bilateral cooperation between Russia and the UN Secretariat, including topical issues on the international and regional agendas.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East, primarily in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Lebanon, and the prospects for overcoming the current unprecedented crisis.
In addition, the tasks of normalizing Russian supplies of agricultural products and fertilizers to world markets were discussed as part of the work on the implementation of the Russia-UN profile memorandum in the interests of ensuring global food security.
