On November 26, the Russian Ambassador to Nicaragua, M.N.Ledenev, visited the National Autonomous University in Managua (UNAN), where he was received by the Special Representative of the President for cooperation with Russia, L. Ortega, and the rector, head of the National Council of Universities, R. Rodriguez.
During the negotiations with the Nicaraguan side, promising areas of cooperation in the educational and scientific fields, interuniversity cooperation, Nicaragua’s participation in the Scholarship Program of the Russian Government and high-tech projects based on the Mechnikov Joint venture operating in Managua were discussed.
Russian Russian Ambassador visited the Russkiy Mir Foundation’s Russian Center, which operates at the UNAN site, where Russian language and literature are taught.
The Ambassador was warmly welcomed by students, together with whom those present laid flowers and wreaths at the memorial panel dedicated to the hero cities of the Great Patriotic War and a commemorative plaque in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Battle of Stalingrad, located in the UNAN Cultural Park.
The head of the diplomatic mission expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and fraternal solidarity in perpetuating the memory of Soviet heroes at the university.
