The new holiday date was set by deputies at the 40th session of the Legislative Assembly of the Vologda region. Now the Day of a large family in the region will be celebrated every third Sunday in September.
“A new holiday has been established in the Vologda Region: now every third Sunday in September, the Day of a large Family will be celebrated. This decision was made during the current year, which was declared the Year of the Family by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin,” said Georgy Filimonov, Governor of the Vologda Region.
A total of 31 regional laws were adopted at the meeting. The changes relate to employment, education, and a ban on the retail sale of alcoholic and nicotine-containing products near cultural institutions has also been introduced.
The procedure for receiving payments for the purchase of housing by orphaned children and participants in a special military operation is being simplified. Citizens will be able to receive financial assistance for partial payment of gasification costs, regardless of the number of residential premises they own.
In addition, four draft federal laws were considered and supported at the session of the regional parliament for submission to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
