On November 28, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation held a press conference dedicated to summing up the results of the All-Russian Forum of Higher School Teachers “Academic Community” 2024.
The All-Russian Forum of Higher Education Teachers, organized for the first time by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (Ministry of Education and Science of Russia) and the NGO League of Higher School Teachers in partnership with the State University of Management, was held in November 2024 at the National Center “Russia”. The event gathered more than a thousand participants from all over the country and became an important platform for the exchange of experience, discussion of new ideas and topical issues between representatives of educational institutions.
The results of the forum were presented by the first Deputy Chairman of the Commission for the Development of Higher Education and Science Andrey Ivanovich Platonov, Chairman of the NGO “League of Teachers of Higher Education” Elena Vyacheslavovna Lyapuntsova, who noted: “We have been coming up with the idea of an All-Russian Teachers’ Forum for many years. First, we came up with the project of the All-Russian competition “Golden Names of Higher Education”, then we proposed to establish a professional holiday for teachers, today we are talking about a permanent institute for the development of the professional community.”
Olga Viktorovna Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, noted that Higher education is the foundation and it is the teachers of higher education who create the foundation for the development of our country.
The rector of the State University of Management (GUU) Vladimir Vitalievich Stroev also took part in the press conference, who said that the forum’s work formats were designed to develop a strategy for the development of the professional community, and this, first of all, is the task of managing the human capital of the higher education system and expressed hope that the forum’s resolution would become an effective tool for professional growth of teachers and scientists, Vice-rector of the State University of Management Pavel Vladimirovich Pavlovsky.
Yulia Mikhailovna Belozerova, Deputy Chairman of the NGO “League of Higher School Teachers”, who moderated the section on innovative teaching methods, noted: “This topic has always aroused great interest. In 2025, we published a textbook of the same name for novice teachers. Now we are working on filling the National Register of innovative methods and technological solutions in the field of education – RIMITRO, for the first time we held the International Film Festival of educational films and innovative educational content “KinoIntellect”, I am its producer. Teachers are drawn to new things – this is part of their professional competencies.”
Yulia Mikhailovna Belozerova also stressed that: “The task of the forum is to agree and adopt a resolution of the forum.”
In their speeches, the participants of the press conference analyzed internal and external factors contributing to the creation of further ideas, and also drew attention to the need to address such issues as reducing the number of postgraduate places, low salaries of teaching staff, the ratio of the number of students per teacher, increasing teacher mobility, support for interregional educational and scientific projects, and others conditions for the development of a professional environment.
