November 28-29, 2024 at the site of the All-Russian Plant Quarantine Center (Bykovo village, The 13th meeting of the Coordinating Council for Plant Quarantine of the CIS member states took place.
The meeting was attended by heads and authorized representatives of the state quarantine services of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the European and Mediterranean Plant Quarantine Organization.
The meeting was chaired by Natalia Solovyova, Head of the Department of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Russian Federation).
At the meeting, the council members informed about the quarantine phytosanitary condition of the territories of the CIS member states, the ongoing work on the integration of information systems used by national organizations in phytosanitary control. Special attention was paid to the use of environmentally friendly disinfection methods, prospects for the development of biological protection, further development of cooperation and other key topics of the council’s activities.
During the meeting, a Report on the activities of the Coordinating Council for the period 2018-2024 was approved, which is planned to be submitted to the supreme bodies of the CIS in accordance with the established procedure.
The members of the Council noted the constructive and effective joint work of specialists at the site of the Working Group on Mutual Recognition of Methods for the identification and identification of quarantine facilities in mutual trade of the CIS member states, aimed at creating favorable conditions for unhindered food supplies in the CIS space.
Acting Chairman of the State Inspection Committee in the Agro-industrial complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanybekov Saken Asembekovich was elected Chairman of the Council for the next term from January 1, 2025.
The next meeting of the Coordinating Council for Plant Quarantine of the CIS member states is scheduled to be held in the second half of 2025 in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
