The FIFA General Assembly has officially approved Saudi Arabia as the host country of the world football tournament. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
The president of the organization, Gianni Infantino, announced that the national football associations had voted in favor of the kingdom’s bid to host the competition.
“The 2034 World Cup will be an outstanding tournament, because it will mark 100 years since the first FIFA World Cup in 1930,” Infantino said.
According to the organizers, the 2034 World Cup matches will be held at 15 stadiums in five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Khubar, Abha and Neoma, a city to be built in the north-west of the country.
It is noted that the stadium in Neon will be located at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level, and it will be possible to reach it only by high-speed elevators and unmanned vehicles.
