ANO Creative Economy summed up the results of 2024, which became an important stage for the development of creative industries in Russia. The organization has not only expanded its activities in the regions, but has also made a significant contribution to the creation of a legal framework in this area.

Russian President Vladimir Putin this year outlined a key goal for the industry: to double the contribution of creative industries to the country’s economy by 2030, raising it from 3.5 to 6 percent. In addition, in August, the law “On the Development of Creative Industries in the Russian Federation” was adopted, which established uniform rules for the federal center and the regions. These guidelines have formed the basis of all the initiatives and activities of the organization.

This year was marked by the expansion of the geography of the main event of the industry, the Russian Creative Week festival–forum. For the first time, events were held in Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Nizhny Novgorod. In total, the festival covered six cities, and more than 12 thousand people visited it. The online broadcast was watched by about 12 million viewers. Krasnoyarsk, which hosted the forum for the fourth time, once again confirmed the status of the flagship of the regional creative movement, bringing together more than 1.5 thousand participants, including over 120 experts. The TV BRICS media network acted as the international information partner of the event.

This year’s festival focused on the themes of local identity, support for creative industries, their role in transforming cities, and the influence of art on shaping the aesthetic taste of the country’s residents. Together with the Russian Ministry of Construction, the implementation of creative sectors in the master plans of cities was also discussed.

Value orientations have also taken an important place in strategic discussions. Sessions were held at three regional forums with the participation of representatives of the creative industry, which resulted in proposals for the inclusion of value indicators in regional development strategies. In addition, the first 20 regions presented their creative economy strategies to the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).

The highlight of the year was the Russian National Award ceremony, the Russian Creative Awards, for which more than a thousand applications were submitted. The Krasnoyarsk Territory was recognized as the most creative region of the year.

ANO Creative Economy is a multidisciplinary center for the development of creative industries, which organizes the largest federal events in this field.
