Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has allocated 4.7 trillion Indonesian rupees (29.5 billion rubles) for a large-scale program of free medical examinations, which covers 60 million citizens. He stressed that the president pays special attention to disease prevention. Subianto believes that health care should be aimed not only at treating, but also at preventing diseases.
According to the Indonesian leader, free medical examinations will help reduce mortality from cardiovascular and other non-communicable diseases.
The program will begin to be implemented in stages this year, and over the next five years it will reach about 200 million people.
