Eldar Alisharov held talks with the Chairman of the UN Statistical Commission

On January 10, Eldar Alisherov, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held talks with Georges-Simon Ulrich, Chairman of the United Nations Statistical Commission and Director General of the Swiss Federal Statistical Office.

The parties discussed a number of topical issues of mutual interest. In particular, the prospects for expanding the membership of the UN Statistical Commission, as well as the possibility of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union joining its expanded membership and the participation of the EEC as an observer were considered.

 

 

 

The United Nations Statistical Commission is the highest body of the global statistical system. It unites the heads of statistical agencies of the UN member states from all over the world. The Commission is the main decision-making body in the field of international statistical activities, in particular with regard to statistical standards, the development of relevant concepts and methods and their implementation at the national and international levels.
