In the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, archaeologists are completing a unique project aimed at exploring the historical urbanism of Russian cities in northern Siberia. This is reported by the Ugra Television and Radio company, a partner of the TV BRICS network.

The researchers focus on the ancient city of Berezov, considered one of the oldest Russian settlements in Yugra and the Siberian north. Ksenia Ermakova, a researcher at the Ugra Center for Archaeology and Ethnography, explained that the main task of scientists is to study the Berezovsky settlement in detail based on data obtained during archaeological excavations.

The result of the work will be the creation of 3D models of the Kremlin and manors, which will open up opportunities for subsequent historical reconstruction.

In addition, the archaeologists of the region continue to study the monuments of the Kayuk culture. This season, they explored the newly discovered settlements of Kayukovo 3 and Kayukovo 4, located next to the previously discovered Kayukovo 1 and Kayukovo 2. According to Ermakova, they partially go under the thickness of the swamps of the Demyan-Vasyugan swamp system.
