On January 15, 2025, at the Moscow branch of the CIS Executive Committee, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev met with Andrey Blagodyrenko, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of MIA Rossiya Segodnya and Head of Sputnik News Agency in neighboring countries.
Sergey Lebedev noted the traditionally high level of work of Sputnik News Agency, reliable, prompt, professional coverage of events taking place in the CIS.
Andrey Blagodyrenko spoke about the work plans for the coming year.
The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation and participation of Sputnik News Agency in the formation of a common CIS information space. Special attention will be paid to information support for events in the Commonwealth included in the Action Plan for the preparation and celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in 2025 in the CIS. The year 2025 has been declared in the CIS as the Year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism.
