Egypt and Nigeria have agreed to upgrade relations to a comprehensive partnership to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment and culture. This was announced by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Daily News Egypt, a partner of the TV BRICS network, reports.
During the meeting, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati and his Nigerian counterpart Yusuf Tuggar also announced plans to establish a joint chamber of commerce of the two countries by the end of 2025. It is noted that this step is aimed at stimulating trade and investment, as well as removing barriers to economic integration within the African Continental Free Trade Area.
In addition, the parties agreed to deepen cooperation in the field of security and expand ties in the fields of agriculture, energy and education. At the same time, special attention will be paid to initiatives on irrigation, water resources management and infrastructure to create jobs.
The Ministers also stressed the importance of educational exchange, announcing plans to implement scholarship programs.
