A gala evening dedicated to the Spring Festival, one of the main events of Eastern culture, was held at the Chinese Cultural Center (KCC) in the capital of Russia. The guests of the event were able to get acquainted with the traditions and art of China.

The evening’s program included many bright events. Among them is an exhibition of the best works of the participants of the Grand Prix of the Ambassador of the “Competition of Russian lovers of Chinese Painting – 2024”. The guests also attended a master class in calligraphy, immersed themselves in the subtleties of the tea ceremony and got acquainted with the presentation of winter tourism entitled “Hello, China! A journey through ice and snow.”

In addition, an award ceremony was held for the winners of the “Wind from China” video contest, organized in honor of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and China. Evgenia Tolstoguzova, Head of the Department for Work with East Asian and African Countries at the TV BRICS Department for International Cooperation, acted as a member of the competition jury. During the event, more than 130 works were received from all over Russia.

The ceremony was attended by Zhang Wei, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Chinese Embassy in Moscow, Feng Litao, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Russia and Director of the KCC, Galina Kulikova, Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society, as well as about 200 participants, including representatives of the Russian and Chinese media and creative circles.

“Naturally, this evening aroused great interest from our Russian friends. Through such events, Russians can get to know China better and understand the country’s culture,” Feng Litao said in an exclusive commentary on TV BRICS.

The evening was decorated with a musical program. The artists of the Fuzhou Opera Theater of Fujian Province performed bright performances, immersing the guests in the atmosphere of a real Chinese celebration.

The event was jointly organized by the Chinese Cultural Center in Moscow and the Asian-European Bureau of the Xinhua News Agency with the support of the Chinese Embassy in Russia.

The Spring Festival was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2024. In the same year, a large-scale celebration of the Chinese New Year was held in Moscow for the first time. The organizers of the gala evening at the KCC expressed the hope that in 2025 even more Russians will be able to join the culture of China and cheerfully celebrate this bright event.
