A memorial sign dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was unveiled in Zambia.

On February 1, the grand opening of a memorial sign dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War took place on the territory of the Russian House in Lutsk. The event was attended by Russian compatriots living in Zambia, Zambian youth planning to study in Russia, as well as employees of the Embassy of the Russian Federation.

The audience was greeted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Zambia, Azim Yarakhmedov. The diplomat said that the opening of the memorial sign symbolizes the beginning of events dedicated to the anniversary of the Great Victory.

The memorial was created on the initiative of the Russian House in Lusaka with the active participation of young compatriots as a place of attraction for all patriotic Russians, as well as Zambian citizens who have respect and sympathy for Russian history and culture.
