Egypt is named the leader among African countries in terms of fixed Internet speed

Egypt has taken the first place in Africa in terms of fixed Internet speed due to digital transformation and infrastructure modernization. This was stated by Abdel Wahab Ghonim, Deputy Chairman of the Arab Federation of Digital Economy at the Arab League.

According to him, the Egyptian government is actively developing digital technologies, which has made it possible to attract about 55 companies in this field to the country, reports Sada El-Balad, a partner of the TV BRICS network. He added that the demand for outsourcing and digital services continues to grow.

Ghonim also stressed that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi pays special attention to training personnel in the field of information technology. In particular, 200,000 young specialists have studied under national programs in the field of artificial intelligence and digital economy.
