On February 7, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a meeting in Moscow with chairmen of the parliament committees (commissions) of the CSTO member states, whose jurisdiction includes international relations, defence and security. The meeting was attended by the ambassadors of the CSTO member states and CSTO Secretary-General Imangali Tasmagambetov.
The main 2024 results of comprehensive cooperation within the CSTO format were discussed. Key areas were outlined for the further development of the collective security system, promotion of the parliamentary dimension of the CSTO’s activities, and deepening of foreign policy coordination. The parties had an active discussion of topical problems on the international and regional agenda.
