On February 6, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov paid a working visit to the Republic of Indonesia.
During bilateral consultations with the Director General for Multilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Indonesia’s BRICS Sherpa Tri Tharyat, a thorough exchange of views took place on the topics of cooperation in the BRICS format. Progress was noted in the institutional development of the association and the implementation of a number of initiatives during the Russian presidency in 2024. The Indonesian side expressed gratitude for the assistance in joining the BRICS as a full-fledged member from January 1, 2025.
Sergey Ryabkov also took part in a briefing for representatives of government agencies, business circles and the expert community of Indonesia, during which he informed about the main mechanisms and areas of work within the association.
