The prospects of cooperation in the field of livestock breeding were discussed by representatives of line ministries, scientific organizations and businesses of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union at a coordination meeting at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission, chaired by Director of the Department of Agricultural Policy of the EEC Naira Karapetyan.
Among the key areas identified is the development of a mechanism for coordinated actions between the EAEU countries and the Commission for the exchange of information on the development of livestock breeding, including using the integrated information system of the Union.
The priorities also include the creation of a reference population of dairy cattle, clarifying the list of statistical indicators and formats for information exchange between member States and the EEC in this area, and conducting joint educational events to share experiences and best practices in breeding livestock.
“The implementation of solutions in these areas will optimize the mechanisms of interstate cooperation for the further introduction of innovative technologies into breeding and breeding work, increasing the genetic potential of breeding farm animals and developing trade in breeding products of the member states of the Union,” Naira Karapetyan summarized.
