This summer, Iran will present a cancer vaccine developed on the basis of the country’s National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. This was announced by the head of the institution, Javad Mohammadi, according to the Mehr news agency, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
He clarified that this vaccine is designed to fight various types of cancer. According to him, Iranian companies have already achieved significant success in developing the drug and will be able to meet 70 percent of the needs of the Iranian population in this medicine.
Mohammadi expressed confidence that in the future these companies will fully cover the needs of the country, reducing dependence on imported medicines and making cancer treatment more accessible to Iranian patients.
The presentation of the vaccine is expected to be an important milestone in the development of Iran’s pharmaceutical industry.
