Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira said that the BRICS summit will be held on July 6-7 in Rio de Janeiro. This is reported on the website of the Brazilian presidency of the association.
The Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, stressed that the summit would strengthen the international authority of the city. Last year, the Group of Twenty (G20) summit was also held there, which was attended by the leaders of the 20 largest economies in the world, recalls the publication Metrópoles, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
Earlier, the Brazilian government named the priorities of the BRICS presidency, including cooperation in the global South and partnership for social development. The republic’s authorities intend to pay special attention to issues of global health, trade and finance, climate change, artificial intelligence management, reform of the international security architecture and institutional development.
The BRICS summit will be the culmination of the Brazilian presidency of the association, which will last until December 31, 2025.
