At a meeting on February 18, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved the topic of information work on consumer protection in the Eurasian Economic Union for 2025: “The consumer is in the spotlight: from balancing interests to fair dispute resolution.” She emphasizes the importance of consumer protection in the development of the EAEU common market.

In their joint activities in this area, the Union countries strive to balance the interests of business and society, creating fair and safe conditions for all market participants.

The Board of the Commission also approved the general approaches of the member States to conducting reviews of legislation in the field of consumer protection. States are encouraged to investigate the completeness and effectiveness of relevant regulatory documents to ensure the protection of the safety and health of buyers, their economic interests, access to information, and dispute resolution mechanisms.

The adopted recommendations are aimed at providing objective and systematic information on legal regulation in the field of consumer protection. Through their application, the Union States will be able to identify existing gaps and adapt their standards to changes in the market and the needs of society.

The results of the reviews will be reviewed at meetings of the relevant Advisory Committee to develop solutions aimed at strengthening the protection of citizens’ rights.

The Board’s recommendations were adopted in accordance with the EAEU countries’ Joint Action Program on Consumer Protection.
