On November 26, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea (REG) announced the results of the presidential elections held on November 20. According to official data, the winner was the current head of state, Chairman of the ruling Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDEG) T. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, who received 94.9% of the vote.

African Union observers declared the election valid. No serious violations that could have affected the expression of the will of the citizens were registered.

Moscow looks forward to further strengthening of the Russian-Ecuatoguinean relations, and proceeds from the assumption that the presidential elections in the REH will contribute to the progressive advancement of the Equatoguinean society towards a stable political and socio-economic development.
