President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on the creation of a national digital network in the country. The document was published on Saturday
in the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
“In order to create an autonomous national digital network in Turkmenistan that is not connected to the Internet, as well as to take measures related to these works on a systematic basis, the President of Turkmenistan signed a decree according to which a working commission was established to develop a concept for the formation of a national digital network and the implementation of a project to create a national digital network and approved its composition”, – it is noted in the resolution.

The proposal to create an autonomous national digital network in the country was made earlier by the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. He recalled that the Department of digital diplomacy was established in the structure of the central office of the department three years ago, among the main tasks of which is to convey to the world community the priorities of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy and international initiatives with the help of digital media resources.
Earlier , Turkmenistan hosted International exhibition and Scientific Conference “Turkmentel-2022”. It discussed the development of information technology and cybersecurity.
