India-Russia: friendship garden.

Ambassador Pavan Kapoor opened the exhibition “India-Russia: friendship garden” at the Russian Academy of Arts, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, with the famous sculptor and artist, President of the Russian Academy Zurab Tsereteli.

The Ambassador spoke about the history of Soviet and Russian artists depicting Indian subjects over the past decades, and stressed the need to build on this heritage, strengthening ties between contemporary artists of both countries.

The exhibition includes more than 150 works of art and numerous archival materials reflecting the cultural cooperation between India and Russia. A significant part of the exhibits was provided by Zurab Tsereteli. In addition to his works, guests of the exhibition will be able to get acquainted with the work of young artists inspired by India.

The exhibition is open to the public from December 9, 2022 to January 15, 2023 at the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts.
