Green zones will appear in Bishkek, where only electric cars will drive. This was announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on agrarian policy, water resources, ecology and regional development by the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Dinara Kutmanova.

According to her, the agency has developed several measures to reduce air pollution in Bishkek. One of them is the introduction of green routes. $20 million will be spent for these purposes.

“We have received approval for a $20 million project to introduce green routes, lines and squares in Bishkek. That is, according to the type of London, where, for example, the movement of vehicles with internal combustion engines is prohibited in the green square. Only taxis and buses run there on power supply. As part of the pilot project, we will deliver 200 electric cars for taxis and 100 minibuses. We will work out the route with the Mayor’s Office,” Dinara Kutmanova said.

She explained that they intend to launch the project for implementation in the first quarter of 2023.
