On December 12, the Russian Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting of the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov with the Prime Minister of the Transitional Government of Burkina Faso A.J.Kielem de Tambela.

During the conversation, priority issues of further strengthening of Russian-Burkinese traditionally friendly relations were discussed, including the intensification of political dialogue and the expansion of mutually beneficial trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation.

The need to consolidate the efforts of the international community in the fight against the terrorist threat in the Sahara-Sahel region and on the African continent as a whole was also noted.
