The year 2022 in Mexico was declared the year of “Ricardo Flores Magona, the suburb of the Mexican Revolution”. The corresponding application was submitted on the official website of the Government of Mexico on January 1, 2022.
The President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, considers Flores Magon a strong social leader with the most persistent revolutionary beliefs.
Ricardo Flores Magon was a Mexican journalist, politician and poet, a bright figure and a radical opponent of the government of Porfirio Diaz, was a supporter of anarchist thought. Ricardo Flores Magon created a political and philosophical trend known as Magonism. He ended in 1922 in the USA, serving his sentence on tour at the age of 49.
In the year of the centenary of his death, all official documents are printed on special letterheads with the image of the Mexican poet and politician and accompanied by the phrase: “The forerunner of the Mexican Revolution.”
