Indian investments in Moscow’s economy amounted to more than $140 million

Indian investments in Moscow’s economy have quadrupled in recent years and amounted to more than $140 million. This was announced to Russian journalists on Tuesday by the head of the Business Council for Cooperation with India, head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations (DVMS) of Moscow Sergey Cheremin.

“Indian investments have actually quadrupled over the past six years, the accumulated volume of foreign direct investment from India into the Moscow economy amounted to more than $140 million, which indicates that the potential of Russian-Indian cooperation is huge,” Cheremin said on the sidelines of the Business Dialogue that opened in the Indian capital, in which he participates participation of the delegation of Moscow.

He noted that on Tuesday they discussed the possibilities of intensifying interregional cooperation. “Moscow has long had strong ties not only with Delhi, but also with such major cities of India as Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai. We recently hosted a tourism conference in Trivandrum,” Cheryomin added, noting that the Business Council for Cooperation with India regularly organizes business missions to India for Russian enterprises”
