CASA-1000 is an energy project of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan worth about $ 1.16 billion. The financing was supported by the World Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the European Investment Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The Project of Electricity Transmission and Trade between the countries of Central Asia and South Asia (CASA-1000) is designed to facilitate electricity trade between the participating countries of CASA-1000 by creating an electricity supply infrastructure, as well as the development of
commercial and institutional mechanisms necessary to conduct trade in a transparent and sustainable manner. The project also supports the continued development of the Central Asian Regional Electricity Market (CASAREM).
We remind you that today, December 16, 2022, the official two-day visit of the Head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Pakistan ended, during which he held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic Shahbaz Sharif.
