Iranian tea is exported to 25 countries

The value of tea exports from Iran increased by 32% in the first eight months of the current 1401 Iranian calendar year (from March 21 to November 21) compared to the same period last year.

As reported, over an eight-month period, Iran exported about 23 thousand tons of tea worth $ 29.5 million to 23 countries, including Uzbekistan, Germany, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Canada, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Pakistan and even India.

The country also imported 46,000 tons of tea worth $355 million from countries such as Kenya, India, China, Vietnam, Turkey and the Netherlands in the first eight months of this year.

Tea imports to Iran increased by 42.9 percent in the eight months of this year compared to the same period in the previous year.

As previously announced by a former representative of the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRICA), Iran exported more than 27,272 tons of tea leaves worth $28 million in the previous 1400 Iranian calendar year (ended March 20), which means an increase of 77 percent. in value and 68 percent more in weight.

According to Ruhollah Latifi, last year Iranian tea was exported to 25 countries.

The United Arab Emirates was the largest importer of Iranian tea in the specified year, having bought 8,304 tons of tea worth more than $ 8,774 million.

Turkey with 2,904 tons of imports worth $3.537 million, Russia with 2,598 tons worth more than $3.092 million, India with 2,538 tons worth $2.371 million and Iraq with the purchase of 2,195 tons of tea worth $1.998 million were the next four directions of tea exports from Iran.
