A program of cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Offices of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan has been signed

In order to strengthen business ties between the Prosecutor’s offices of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, a delegation headed by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev is on a working visit to Dushanbe at the invitation of Prosecutor General of the Republic of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon.

Prosecutor General Yusuf Rahmon, who welcomed the delegation at the meeting at the Prosecutor General’s Office of Tajikistan, told AZERTAC that, as in all areas, cooperation between the prosecutor’s offices of our countries is at a high level.

Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev expressed gratitude to his colleague for the hospitality and warm welcome and stressed that relations historically based on the national roots of our peoples are successfully developing in political, economic, cultural and other fields, as a result of the far-sighted foreign policy of the heads of state, relations between our countries have risen to the level of reliable cooperation and are based on the principles of friendship.

At the meeting, a productive exchange of views took place on issues of cooperation in the legal sphere, the effectiveness of joint activities within the framework of international organizations in both bilateral and multilateral formats and the improvement of the existing contractual framework in the field of legal cooperation were discussed. Issues of interest to the parties were discussed, confidence was expressed in the successful continuation of relations between the prosecutor’s offices of the two countries.

During the meeting, a program of cooperation between the prosecutor’s offices for 2023-2024 was signed.

During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held with Sulaimon Sultonzoda, Director of the Agency for State Financial Control of Tajikistan and the Fight against Corruption. Stressing the importance of anti-corruption reforms carried out as a result of the strong political will of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Prosecutor General informed in detail about the measures taken in our country in this area. An agreement on cooperation in the fight against corruption was also signed in order to expand interdepartmental cooperation and exchange of experience.

The meetings were attended by the Ambassador of our country to Tajikistan Alimirzamin Askerov.

Kamran Aliyev also met with the Prosecutor General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al Muajib, who is on a working visit to Tajikistan, and exchanged views on future cooperation.

During the visit, the delegation visited the monument to Ismoil Somoni in the Memorial Complex of National Solidarity and Revival of Tajikistan on Dusti Square in Dushanbe and laid a wreath at it. The Prosecutor General visited the Embassy of our country in Dushanbe, where he visited the bust of the national leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev, and respectfully honored his bright memory.
