The Chinese company BYD intends to introduce in 2023 two new sub-brands that will produce electric vehicles. This was told by the president of the brand Wang Chuanfu, Autonews Europe reported on November 17.

Wang Chuanfu made a statement that the company will release two new brands that will produce premium electric vehicles at an event that was dedicated to the release of the company’s three-millionth electric car in China.

The first to launch a sub-brand, which does not yet have an English name, said the head of the company. In Chinese, it is designated as Yangwang. The English name will be presented by BYD together with the first model, the presentation of which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023. It is still unknown what the second brand will be called. Chuanfu added that it will be with a “highly professional and personalized design.”

Wang Chuanfu hinted that future Yangwang models will be equipped with “disruptive technologies” and will cost about 1 million yuan (approximately 8,529,574 rubles).

In March of this year, the company stopped producing gasoline-powered cars and focused on the production of plug-in hybrids and fully electric cars. In the first 10 months of 2022, BYD delivered 1.4 million plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles to the market, which is 234% more than in the same period of 2021.

On November 18, it became known about the start of sales of the Russian-made electric car Evolute i-JOY. The car is equipped with one electric motor with a capacity of 163 hp. The maximum speed of the electric car will be 155 km / h. The capacity of the 53 kW/h traction battery is enough to travel 407 km on a single charge. The batteries are located in the lower part of the body. The cost of the car, taking into account the state subsidy, is 2,565,000 rubles.
