Chinese solemn procession at VDNH

On December 24, 2022, for the first time, a solemn procession in honor of the Chinese Winter Solstice Day will be held at VDNH.

Winter Solstice Day is one of the most significant Chinese holidays. It is also called “Chinese Thanksgiving Day”. On this day, mass festive processions and family gatherings are organized. It is believed that such a celebration attracts positive energy to people along with the lengthening light day.

The program of the event includes a Solemn procession, which starts on December 24 (Sat) at 13:00 from the Vostok launch vehicle and will stop near Pavilion No. 21, where a large-scale theatrical performance with performances by dancers, Chinese drummers, little dragons and a Chinese lion will take place. Visitors will be able to take memorable photos, after which they will continue to get acquainted with the history and culture of China at the exhibition already inside Pavilion No. 21.

Here at the exhibition “Terracotta Army. Immortal Warriors of China” presents more than 200 exhibits on an area of 1600 m2. Among them are reproductions of ancient statues of warriors, weapons and costumes, original artifacts from the collection of the State Museum of the East, as well as interactive zones, sand animation and a light show.
