The first phase of the introduction of biometric services for passengers has started at Abu Dhabi Airport (UAE), reports Khaleej Times.

At the first stage, facial recognition equipment will be installed at several points of interaction with passengers. Subsequently, high-tech biometric cameras will verify travelers at the airport wherever necessary, including baggage drop-off points, passport control, boarding gates and a business class lounge, the report says.

The necessary solutions using artificial intelligence technology are being developed by the local company NEXT50 in cooperation with European partners. According to the company, after the completion of the project, Abu Dhabi Airport will become the only airport in the region with a full cycle of biometric services.
