The head of the sector in the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, announced the introduction of administrative and criminal responsibility for assigning tasks to teachers that are not related to their duties.
A draft law has been developed in Uzbekistan on bringing to administrative and criminal responsibility those who impose work on teachers that is not related to their duties, head of the Communications and Information Policy Sector of the Executive Office of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva said. According to her, the document will be adopted in the near future.

According to her, “for many years, the teachers teaching our children were disenfranchised, defenseless, and their work was devalued.”

“They were used as gardeners, janitors, waiters serving commissions that came to school, “extras” filling empty halls at boring events, subscribers of print publications under duress, night duty and school guards,” she wrote on her Telegram channel.

Saida Mirziyoyeva stressed that “it is time to stop this state of affairs.” “After all, if we do not raise the honor and dignity of the Teacher, we will not be able to achieve anything,” the president’s daughter said.

In early November, it was reported that the capital’s teachers are forced to walk around the apartments and collect data on the presence of school-age children in families living on the micro-site related to the school.

After that, the Presidential Administration instructed to conduct an inventory of the tasks assigned to teachers and cancel those that do not relate to their work. Tanzila Narbayeva said that the State Labor Inspectorate needs to strengthen control in this direction.

In August 2018, the President signed a decree prohibiting the involvement of public education workers in work not related to official duties, including landscaping and landscaping of the territories of districts and cities, seasonal agriculture and other types of work.

They can also not be attracted to meetings and other events not related to professional activities, to organize their compulsory subscriptions to printed publications. In addition, there is a ban on checking the activities of public education institutions in case of non-compliance with the established procedure and grounds not provided for by law.

Despite this, the practice of forcing teachers to various jobs has continued in recent years.
