The Director General of the Cinematography Organization of Iran, Mohamad Khazai, at a meeting with the Russian cinematographic delegation headed by the Deputy of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, said that the West seeks to isolate Iranian cinema.

The Days of Russian Cinema festival opened in Tehran the other day and an official delegation from Russia became a guest of this cultural event.

Russian Russian delegation was welcomed at the meeting by the Iranian side, who stated that day by day the cultural relations between Iran and Russia are growing and Iranians are already well acquainted with Russian fiction and drama, and even Russian literature is taught in Iranian universities.

Khazai also noted Iran’s readiness to expand and strengthen current relations in order to increase the level of cooperation between the two countries.

“During our trip to Moscow, we achieved good results in the Ministry of Culture of Russia, and good negotiations were held in various sectors, including the holding of Russian cinema weeks, the release and screening of Iranian films in Russia, the creation of the secretariat of the Shanghai Member States working group, and so on,” he said.

According to him, the West seeks to isolate Iranian and Russian cinema and, using the potential between the two countries and exchanging experience, it is possible to overcome their approach.

The Russian side, in turn, also stated that “our talks with the Iranian delegation were fruitful, and, fortunately, this is the first time that the days of Russian cinema are held in Iran.”

“Today, culture is following new paths and finding its way. We have long-term prospects for cinema cooperation with the countries of Eurasia in this vision, and with the good potential that Iran has, I hope to receive a positive response from the Iranian side,” Alexander Salamonov said.
