Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to establish cooperation on the basis of FEZ and Baku port

Prospects for establishing investment and transport and logistics cooperation based on the joint use of the resources and capabilities of the port and the FEZ of Azerbaijan were discussed during the visit of the government delegation of Uzbekistan to Baku, the information service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan reports.

Attention is paid to the implementation of joint projects in the production of food, leather and footwear, textile and other high-value-added products in the territory of the free economic zone “Alat”, from where these products will be sent to the markets of the EU, CIS and other neighboring countries.

The Uzbek side and Taleh Ziyadov, General Director of Baku International Commercial Sea Port CJSC, discussed the possibilities of further expanding transport and logistics ties, including increasing the volume of container transportation and transportation of Ro-Ro cargo through seaports.

The prospects provided by the opening of Uzbek warehouses and container terminals on the basis of the Baku International Commercial Sea Port are noted.
